Students who participate in rock bands demonstrate aptitude at their chosen instrument, a good attitude and work ethic, are team players and have fun!

Rock Band Program &
House Band Auditions
Grades 6-12

To join Rock Bands, students take part in a friendly and supportive audition with our faculty band. Please prepare the material for your instrument as listed below. If you would like to audition on an instrument that is not listed, please contact us for material specific to your instrument.

To be considered for House Band, just let us know when you sign up for your audition slot - while selection for this ensemble is competitive, the audition material is the same.

Each audition time slot will be 30 minutes, with 6 students per audition time. Students will be called one at a time to demonstrate what they have prepared and play along with the faculty band.

Audition Material

Prepare through the end of the first verse and chorus of whichever song matches your part (drums have two options):

Guitar, Bass, Drums, Male Vocalists: "Inside Out" by Eve 6
Keys, Drums: "Breakdown" by Tom Petty
- Keyboard tutorial for "Breakdown"
- Drum Demo for "Breakdown"
Female Vocalists: "Love Story" by Taylor Swift

Beginner Rock Band Auditions

Students in Grades 4 and higher who wish to perform in a band will demonstrate what they have prepared and play along with Elementary Rock Band leader Clint Weaver. All students who can demonstrate the minimum requirements are encouraged to audition. Each audition time slot will be 30 minutes, with up to 6 students per audition time.
