Band Registration

Rock Bands at TMS
Grades 3-12
Every Tuesday, students plug in, tune up, and practice toward performances, coached by professional musicians.
Students of guitar, bass, piano, voice and drums learn teamwork, musicianship, and stagecraft through weekly rehearsals and multiple performances each year.
Other instruments welcome - just ask!
How It Works
Rock Bands programs meet Tuesday evenings September through May, and are offered in four levels, grouped by age and experience. See our Group Classes page for detailed class descriptions.
Rock Band Prep (Grades 3-5)
The entry point - no experience or audition needed, just curiosity.
No audition or experience needed, enroll by session.
Beginner Rock Band (Grades 4-5)
Builds the independence and rehearsal habits that carry students forward. Readiness audition and private lesson enrollment required. Full year commitment.
"Band Lab" Rock Band Program (Grades 6-12)
The cornerstone of the program, where students take on repertoire, songwriting, and public performance. Placement audition required, all students who meet the prerequisites are accepted. Private lessons strongly recommended, session enrollment possible.
House Band (Grades 6-12)
TMS's most committed students take the stage as ambassadors for the school. Competitive selection audition and private lesson enrollment required. Full year commitment.
All auditions for Beginner Rock Band, Rock Bands, and House Band take place on the same day. Detailed audition requirements and preparation materials are available on our Auditions page. Confidence
Build self-assurance through rehearsal, risk-taking, and public performance
Responsibility
Show up prepared, on time, and ready to support your bandmates
Creativity
Explore song structure, arrangement, and improvisation
