Private Lessons

Music Made Personal

Private lessons are more than just one-on-one instruction, they're a chance to build confidence, explore creativity and deepen a love of music with a caring teacher. Lessons are tailored to each students goals and learning style, and musicians of all levels are welcome.

Choose from a wide range of instruments and styles, taught by exceptional local faculty who bring both expertise and heart to their teaching.

Lessons are available for students age 7 - adult.

Instruments
Instruments taught include: bass, cello, clarinet, drums, flute, guitar, mandolin, music production, music therapy, piano, saxophone, songwriting, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice. Read more about our teachers here.

Scheduling
Lessons meet once per week at the same time each week, and times are assigned through the end of the school year, September through May. A summer session is offered separately. The schedule is build from scratch each fall. Please consider your student's schedule carefully: schedule changes and withdrawals cannot be made mid-session, and make up lessons are not given for student absences. Read more about registration, session dates, scheduling, billing & scholarships here.

Make Up Lessons
We do not offer make-up lessons for student absences. This policy helps us support teachers’ time and maintain consistency for all students.Read more about our policies here.

Performances
TMS Fest, our annual student showcase, takes place in our studios and at The Center the third weekend of May each year. All students are encouraged to participate. Your teacher will work with you to prepare. There may be other informal opportunities throughout the year to perform. Ask your teacher!

Dates and Closures

TMS follows the Teton County School District calendar for major holidays and district-wide closures including winter and spring breaks. â€‹Some lessons may meet fewer weeks because of these closures, and tuition will be adjusted accordingly. View the full schedule here.

Practice

Progress in music comes from consistent practice between lessons. Students must have regular access to their instrument at home, and we’re happy to offer guidance if you’re unsure what to get. More info here.

For younger students, parent involvement is key. Helping to create a routine, encouraging practice, and staying in communication with the teacher all contribute to a positive and successful experience.
