Cletus & The Disciples Play The Center Benefit

On June 30, 2024, Teton Music School (TMS) showcased the remarkable talent of their teen rock band program at The Center's Annual Benefit Concert.

By the time Cletus & The Disciples stepped onto the stage at The Center's Annual Benefit Concert, they had already had a day worth remembering.

A live radio interview on KHOL. A backstage conversation with Marc Broussard, who took real time with them and shared what life actually looks like as a working professional musician. Five young musicians who had spent a full year preparing for exactly this kind of moment.

They were ready.

Meet the Band

Griffen Anderson (drums), Annabel Balsa (guitar), Augustine Porter (keys and vocals), Mesa Smithmen (bass), and Liz Yecht (vocals, guitar, and violin) worked together with TMS teacher Taylor Upton and spent the year building real chemistry alongside their technical chops.

Their name comes from a beloved statue found backstage at The Center, adopted by TMS's rock bands program as its mascot. A band born from this community, named after a piece of it, performing on a stage inside it. Their setlist covered songs from the likes of Harvey Danger, Phoebe Bridgers, and Jimmy Buffett, showing range across styles, feels, and decades.

More Than a Performance

This is what Teton Music School is built around: not just lessons and rehearsals, but the full experience of being a musician. The Center's Annual Benefit supports the 21 arts and education nonprofits that call this campus home, and TMS is proud to be one of them. Since 2019, we've brought music education and live performance opportunities to more than 250 people each year.
