Holiday Uke Jam & Singalong Event

On a December Saturday morning, something simple and good happened at the National Museum of Wildlife Art: people gathered, picked up instruments, and sang holiday songs together. No tickets. No experience required. Just music and a room full of neighbors.

That's exactly the point.

Teton Music School's Holiday Uke Jam & Singalong brought together players and singers of all ages and skill levels for an hour of familiar holiday tunes led by TMS teaching artist Susan Jones and anchored by Jam 55+, TMS's community ensemble for adults 55 and up. Some people brought their own ukuleles. Some borrowed one at the door. Some came just to sing. Everyone was welcome.

Music That Includes Everyone

Susan Jones has a gift for drawing people in, lowering the stakes, and making it feel natural to join in even if you haven't played or sung in years. Jam 55+ set the tone from the start, a group of adult musicians who show up regularly not because they have to, but because making music with other people is something worth showing up for.

Why Free Events Like This Matter

Teton Music School believes that music belongs to everyone—and that means removing barriers whenever possible. A free, all-ages event at a community institution like the National Museum of Wildlife Art is one way of making that real.

"We love any chance to bring people together through music," said Executive Director Amanda Flosbach. "Whether you strum, sing, or listen, we'd love to have you join us."

That welcome is genuine. It's the same spirit behind everything TMS does—from private lessons and rock bands to Music Therapy partnerships and 55+ ensembles. The school works with more than 500 students each year, and events like this one extend that reach further into the community, reminding people that the door is always open.
