Celebrating 5 Years of Teton Music School: A Year of Milestone Events

The 2023-2024 school year at Teton Music School was packed with exciting events, marking the fifth birthday of this beloved institution with joy, music, and community spirit.

Meet Me at Midnight (TMS Version): A Taylor Swift Tribute

Date: January 13, 2024

Location: Center Theater

Details: The year kicked off with a spectacular Taylor Swift tribute concert. TMS Teacher and devoted Swiftie Melissa Elliott, AKA Missy Jo, performed alongside TMS faculty and students. The event included pre-show activities like friendship bracelet-making and a selfie photo booth, hosted by GAP! (Girls Actively Participating). Additionally, the Dancers’ Workshop’s Junior Repertory Company made a special appearance.

A New Orleans Tradition

Date: February 7, 2024

Location: Center for the Arts

Details: TMS partnered with Community Entry Services' Music Therapy crew for a lively New Orleans-style second line parade. Participants wore beads, boas, and costumes, bringing their instruments to make some noise. The celebration concluded with a delicious King Cake, courtesy of CWC Culinary.

Eat Pizza, Support TMS

Date: March 5, 2024

Location: Handfire Pizza

Details: TMS hosted a pizza party at Handfire Pizza, where a portion of the sales was donated to the school. The evening featured performances from TMS's rock bands, including the debut of the Elementary School Rock Band, the Youth Choir, and Jam55.

80s Glam Rock Party featuring 86

Date: April 27, 2024

Location: Center Theater

Details: The celebrations continued with an ’80s glam rock-themed party. The evening included a screening of "This is Spinal Tap," followed by live music from Jackson Hole’s own hair metal rockers "86," featuring TMS drum teacher Ed Domer. The event also included a radical costume contest, a selfie photo booth, dancing, and a cash bar.

TMS Fest '24

Dates: May 17 & 18, 2024

Location: Center for the Arts

Details: TMS Fest '24 was a fun, festival-style recital weekend where musicians of all ages showcased their talents. The festival featured multiple stages, including open mic sessions, performances from the Youth Choir, Jam 55+, and Music Therapy musicians from Community Entry Services. The headline acts included TMS's elementary, middle, and high school rock bands. The celebration was complete with birthday cake and concessions.
