Last night, the Center for the Arts belonged to the next generation — and they made the most of it. Teen Takeover 2024 was a Center-wide showcase made by teens, for teens: an evening celebrating the young creatives in our community across music, theatre, visual art, writing, culinary arts, and more. From 6 to 8:30pm, every corner of the building had something happening, and the energy was unmistakable.
A Community-Wide Collaboration
Teen Takeover didn't happen in a vacuum. The evening was a collaboration among several organizations that believe in young people enough to build something real around them: Teton Music School, Off Square Theatre, Jackson Hole High School Art and Culinary programs, and more.
What Went Down
The showcase spread across the entire Center, with something unfolding around every corner:
Live Music: Student bands from Teton Music School took the stage and delivered
Theatre: Thespians from Off Square Theatre performed for a live audience
Juried Art Show: Visual work from high school art students lined the walls — the kind of show that made you slow down and look twice
Poetry & Open Mics:Young writers stepped up to the mic and shared their words with a room full of peers
Small Bites & Sweet Treats: Culinary students fed the crowd
Maker Station & Photo Booth:Teen-led, hands-on, and a genuine highlight
Thank You
To every student who put their work in front of an audience last night: that took courage, and it showed. To the teachers, mentors, and partner organizations who made this possible — thank you for championing these young creatives and giving them a stage worthy of their talent.
Teen Takeover 2025 was a night worth remembering. We can't wait to see what they do next year.
Teton Music School is proud to be a co-producer of Teen Takeover. Learn more about our programs at tetonmusicschool.org.
